In 1973 Bill Cooper was a machinist working 2nd shift at ACIPCO. Needing to earn more money to support his growing family, he “borrowed” grocery money to buy materials for his first job: replacing the gutters on a neighbor’s home. Once the job was complete and he received his payment, he paid back the grocery money loan, paid his helper and had money left over. From those humble beginnings came a career in the roofing business that would carry Bill to roof countless homes and buildings across the Alabama. Some notable commercial projects include Associated Grocers in Tarrant City, the Thomas Jefferson Hotel, New Ideal, Brown Marx Tower in Downtown Birmingham, shopping centers in Riverchase, Centerpoint, Inverness and Greensprings, Merita Bakery, and other industrial buildings throughout Alabama. He even roofed the Army Housing at Ft. Rucker. Additionally, there are thousands of homes that he roofed during his lifetime. A legacy of attention to detail and quality workmanship was created that we are proud to continue.
